  • Divorce Mediation:

If you need Mediation Services, contact the Chicago Divorce Association for Men.

During mediation sessions, we provide diverse, constructive solutions.  Mediation is a simple way for family members to resolve conflicts before, during and after divorce.  Mediation may be with one or both parties.  The mediator is a neutral trained professional and facilitates the parties in resolving all issues in dispute and simplifying the communication process so agreements can be reached.  Our mediators do not make decisions for the parties, but we assist them in making decisions that are acceptable to both parties.  Our mediators mediate all issues in a divorce proceeding.  Issues in mediation can include:

  • Child custody
  • Child visitation
  • Child support
  • Spousal support
  • Division of marital debts
  • Division of any and all marital property
  • Even mediating previous attorney's fees you feel are unfair

The goal of mediation is to reach a mutually acceptable (and agreed upon) Mediation Settlement Agreement, and to accomplish all other steps in the dissolution of a marriage.  Naturally, all mediation sessions are strictly confidential.

For further, detailed information, contact our office between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 9:00 p.m. Central Standard Time, 7 days per week at (630)860-2100.

  • Visitation Abuse:

Neither parent has the ability to deny any child visitation rights without justifiable reasons.  Call for details!

When a parent denies a child their right to visit the other parent, the denying parent, most specifically (when the courts have ordered specific days and times), in Illinois, could be criminally charged with "Unlawful Visitation Interference".

Dr. Delorto was an active proponent for this legislation which was successful in Springfield, Illinois and now visitation abuse is a criminal offense.

  • Legal Research:

Definition of Legal Research -- How and Why:

Legal research should be "Standard Operational Procedure".  Every case has its own merit.  Since 1970, Dr. Delorto has never seen two cases alike.  Your attorney should and Chicago Divorce Association for Men can perform legal research for your case.

Many cases are successful because the litigant/parent is very prepared.

We can help you find out just how prepared your attorney is.  If your attorney is prepared, we can help you increase and improve that process.  If they aren't prepared, we can help with that problem, too -- CALL US!  Legal research can make your case.

Case law changes every day, so it's important to keep up with it.  Statutory law changes regularly and public policy changes rapidly as well.  If you think one person (the attorney) can keep up with all these changes . . . they can't.  The best way to keep up with changes is to study what the judges are ruling and why and how the divorce judges change their approach.  This is called legal research.  You must stay on top of your case as it proceeds.  One approach would be keeping informed using a good law library or by using our legal research services.

Do not rely solely on your attorney to study case law on your behalf.  Stay active on your case.  Relying on one person exclusively to put together your case could be overly optimistic.
